CallAnswer ("we," "us," or "our") provides an AI-powered answering service for home service contractors. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use our service — whether you're a business customer or a caller interacting with our AI.
Information We Collect
Business Customers
When you sign up for CallAnswer, we collect:
- Account information (name, email address, business name, phone number)
- Business details (services offered, service area, operating hours, booking preferences)
- Billing information (processed securely through Stripe)
- Call and messaging data (call logs, SMS messages sent and received through the service, conversation transcripts)
Callers and End Users
When someone calls or texts a CallAnswer-powered number, we collect:
- Phone number
- Content of SMS messages exchanged during the conversation
- Call metadata (time, duration, caller ID when available)
- Information provided during the conversation (name, service request, preferred appointment times, property address)
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Power AI-generated text responses to incoming calls and messages
- Qualify leads and book appointments on behalf of our business customers
- Provide call and lead management dashboards
- Process subscription billing
- Improve our AI models and service quality (using aggregated, de-identified data)
- Send service-related communications to business customers
- Comply with legal obligations
Third-Party Services
We work with trusted third-party providers to deliver our service:
- Twilio — Provides the SMS and voice infrastructure that powers our call answering and text messaging. Twilio processes phone numbers, call data, and message content. See Twilio's Privacy Policy.
- Stripe — Handles payment processing for subscriptions. We never store your full credit card number. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Anthropic — Powers the AI that generates text responses during conversations. Conversation data is sent to Anthropic's API for processing. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Data Retention
We retain business customer account data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal obligations and resolve disputes.
Call logs, conversation transcripts, and lead data are retained for up to 24 months from the date of creation. Business customers can request deletion of their data at any time by contacting us.
Caller phone numbers and message content associated with opt-out requests (STOP messages) are retained only as needed to honor the opt-out preference.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, secure access controls, and regular security reviews. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Receive a copy of your data in a portable format

Opt-Out of Messages
If you are receiving text messages from a CallAnswer-powered number and wish to stop, you can reply STOP at any time. You will receive a confirmation message and no further messages will be sent to your number from that business.

Children's Privacy
CallAnswer is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify business customers of material changes via email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.
